Searchlight Digital is the digital playground of Pete Wailes, a digital code, design and marketing monkey. I’ve been active the digital industry for something over 7 years, and have been featured in Accountancy Age, SEOmoz Ranking Factors v2 and a variety of blogs, both small to very large. I’ve also speak at several conferences, including (but not limited to) SES, SMX and MCL.

Design/Coding/Analysis/etc…

No, I do not do any design or programming work for clients or agencies. I will not work on your website. If you want good consultancy or digital work done, I’ll be happy to recommend various vendors. Email me if you want to know who I’d suggest.

Consulting

Yes, I do consult, but only for certain companies. If you’re interesting, innovative or very large, I’ll probably consider lending you my brain. However, I only consult on projects that I personally consider interesting, so please don’t get in touch unless you’re doing something that’d get coverage on places like HackerNews, TechCrunch or major media. If it doesn’t fit the bill, I’m probably not going to say yes.

Why…?

Well, put simply, everyone needs somewhere to play around with things.

This site acts as my personal playground, development and staging server and anything else I need it to be. It’s the current area where Salamander and Coll8 are developed. It also acts as a CDN for various projects.

You may find interesting things on the blog, if you enjoy coding, designing or marketing. However, it’s not going to be frequently updated, so don’t expect it to be.

Warning

As such, large sections of this site could well be broken or doing all sorts of interesting things at any point in time. No code you see here should ever be considered production-ready, unless explicitly specified.
